Big/Little Sister MentoringIEEE WIE presents a mentoring program designed specifically for freshmen and sophomore women. We have eleven mentors so far, ranging from Juniors to Graduate students, in the ECE and CS departments and expect to see more coming out! We invite all freshmen women in the departments to participate in our program. There is no application process nor are there any dues involved. We encourage you to take advantage of the oppurtunity and meet our mentors pictured below. A major focus of the program will be providing educational support, private homework help, and group study sessions. Also, we hope to have a fun time. We'll start off the semester with a FREE dinner at the Inn on February 10. Throughout the semester we'll have sponsored coffee breaks (free coffee for the day), movie nights and even a VERMONSTER challenge. WIE is also a great avenue for getting involved. As we are umbrelled by IEEE we participate in co-req intramurals, join up with their Relay for Life team, help organize S-PAC and other events within the department. Now is a great time to get involved- we hope to hear from you soon. For more information contact Amy Malady at amalady@vt.edu or drop off a completed interest form (found below) in the IEEE office, Whit 213. Also, please join us on Feb 3 in Rand 110 at 5pm for our general meeting. Bring questions, or simply come out to meet us.
Express your interest in participating by filling out an interest form and sending it to Philip at pdk@vt.edu. Or you can print it and drop it by the IEEE Office.
