ECE students, Interested in Space Electronics? Want to see how boards and hardware for space missions are assembled? BAE Systems will be hosting a tour of their Manassas site on Friday December 5th, 2008. A bus will depart Virginia Tech at 7am on the 5th to bring interested VT students to Manassas. Upon arrival, representatives will give an overview of the company and the work done at Manassas on space electronics. Interested students will then be broken into groups to tour BAE’s Semiconductor Technology Center, Electronics Module Assembly Lab, and the Failure Analysis Lab. Members of the tour group will then be able to enter into an open dialogue with BAE Systems Engineers. The members of the tour group will then be loaded back into the bus around 4pm and return to VT at around 8pm. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will all be provided. If you are interested in going on this trip, please contact either John Kollar at jckollar@vt.edu or Dr. Meehan at kameehan@vt.edu. US citizenship is required to attend. |
