This Wednesday at our weekly IEEE meeting, we will be electing some new officers for this semester as well as positions that will carry into next academic year. If you are interested in running for an officer position, come to Randolph 216 on Weds (1/28) at 5:30 pm as well as email Bill Geneczko (wrgenec@vt.edu) with a brief description of why you would be qualified for the position. The open positions are listed below.

The Student Professional Awareness Conference (SPAC) is quickly approaching (February 6th, 2009), so be sure you are fully prepared and registered! Go to the SPAC page and follow the instructions provided.
The IEEE Undergraduate Research Seminar Series will continue soon (February 2nd, 2009) with a presentation from Dr. Lai on Alternative Energy Technology. Be sure to check the IEEE Events page to get the details. With IEEE Membership Week coming up soon, it is the time to get involved. Please join IEEE WIE on Friday December 5th for the Winter Lights Festival. The festival is from 4-7pm at the Farmer's Market. The holiday parade begins at 7pm and marches down main street. This will be a nice break from work and a good way to bring in the holiday season. Blacksburg Festivals have street vendors, food stands, entertainment and lots of friendly faces.
